Update: Diving Indonesia

Welcome to the Indonesia section of the SCUBA Travel Guide. Here we have information on the diving in Bali, Lombok, Alor, Sulawesi, Sumatra, West Papua/Irian Jaya, Gili Islands, etc. Discover dive sites, dive shops, accomodation, when to go, how to get there.

Indonesia is an archipelago 17,508 islands lying between the Indian and Pacific Oceans. 6000 of the islands are inhabited. Neighbouring countries include Australia, Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore.

The are 11 countries whose citizens do not need a visa to visit Indonesia, amongst them Thailand and Malaysia. Nationals of EU countries, South Africa, Australia, USA and 33 other countries and can get a visa upon arrival in Indonesia.

Indonesia has two seasons: wet and dry. In most of Indonesia the wet season is from October to April and the dry from May to September. The best time to go is in the dry season.
